Cadillac looks to outdo Audi and Mercedes with futuristic dash design, set to debut on future production vehicle
Audi`s Virtual Cockpit and Mercedes` wide-screen E-Class dash could be about to meet their match. Cadillac is teasing a brand new, futuristic interior design for its next range of vehicles.
The Cadillac dash concept, designed in partnership with LG, sees a new approach to the US brand`s design with the elimination of analogue dials and gauges. Super-sharp OLED screens display all driving data such as speed, sat-nav info and media, with the rest of the cabin offering a more minimalist feel.
New features allow drivers to sync their smartphone calendar to the system, producing journey and schedule information while on the move. The menus feature neat 3D graphics, while the narrow-spoked steering wheel is a throwback to Cadillacs of the 1960s and 70s.
Cadillac is yet to give word on which model will use the dash, though all elements of the vehicle suggest it will be a new high-end car. The brand will debut the new design in Pebble Beach, California, at the Monterey Car Week.
